I’m the spacesuit pirate in an ocean: alienated
When empty’s gone this relationship’s potion.
I’m just… I’m just utterly fricken hungover
From wasted devotion; over the disgust
Of the awful grog of an unfaithful lover
And the scurvy it leaves on my emotions,
Wondering when it all went topsy-turvy;
Sailing lost too many a salty night t’reach
Extraterrestrial atolls for a solacing beach
Of puppy-love’s vigor to diminish quick
Amour’s mermaid-like tricks and smile,
Yet still not a lighthouse I’ve seen for awhile
